PCB Drilling Support

Determining the hit count for drilling depends on several factors:

• Drill diameter

• Use of a new or resharpened drill

• Type of material to be drilled

NF Trading provides calculation tables optimized for new drills, based on a peripheral cutting speed of 150 m/min. To calculate the hit count correctly:
1️⃣ Identify the value corresponding to the drill diameter and material type.
2️⃣ Convert the value to millimetres.
3️⃣ Divide it by the thickness of the material to be drilled.

For resharpened drills, we recommend reducing the hit count by 20% compared with new drills, helping extend tool life while preserving hole quality.
